Like us, many of you are working from home working remotely and adapting new changes and challenges. With that said, below are 8 useful tips to keep your productivity going even while working from home!
1. BUILD A PERMANENT WORK SPACE
Establish an area of your home where you will work, and commit to working in this space every day. Be sure your workspace is quiet so you can focus on the task at hand.
2. UPDATE YOUR TO-DO LIST EVERY MORNING
Start your day by reviewing priorities for the day. Set 3 goals and time limits for each task. After you complete each task, cross it off the list. This simple technique is both effective and fulfilling.
3. STAY OFF SOCIAL MEDIA
Minimizing mindless use of social media helps avoid distractions, so you can focus on getting more done.
4. LISTEN TO MUSIC
Listening to music can improve our mood, boost cognitive and physical performance, and keep us motivated for longer—but it all depends on the kind of music you listen to.
5. EXERCISE & STRETCH REGULARLY
Exercise naturally boosts endorphins, which increases happiness, enjoyment, and interest levels, all of which are important for productivity.
6. TAKE SHORT BREAKS
Research has shown that taking short breaks can actually increase productivity and creativity levels. You can observe this by taking five-minute breaks into your daily schedule.
7. SET MULTIPLE ALARMS
Even if you don’t have to be up as early to leave for the office, you should still set an alarm to commit to wake up at the same time.
8. EXERCISE YOUR EYES
Look away from your computer at least every 20 minutes and gaze at a distant object. Looking far away relaxes the focusing muscle inside the eye to reduce fatigue. Don't forget to use our blue blockers, too!
